Joining happens on myBackyard

myBackyard is a social app just for Newfoundland — local clubs, events, and the people who run them, without the rest of the internet. It's where the club keeps its members, posts each meet, and takes sign-ups, so your membership lives in one place you actually check.

  1. Create a myBackyard account

Free, takes a minute, and it's yours — not the club's. Sign up at mybackyard.space with an email or your Google account.

  2. Find St. John's Lift Club

Search the club by name once you're in, or go straight to our page. Follow it and every meet, change of time, and announcement lands with you.

  3. Join when it opens

Sign up from the club page for $12.99 a month. Membership opens alongside the first meet in September 2026 — follow the page now and you'll know the moment it does.

  4. Keep showing up

Every meet earns loyalty points, and the room starts expecting you. That's the whole system.

Before you ask

I've never lifted a weight in my life. Is this for me?

Yes, more than anyone. Every meet starts with a trainer showing you exactly what to do, and nobody in the room assumes you know anything. Beginners are the point of this club, not a tolerated exception.

Do I need my own Ignite membership?

Not for meets, entry is free for club members. If you want to train at Ignite between meets, your club membership gets you [__]% off their standard rate.

When are the meets?

Every two weeks at Ignite, starting September 2026. The day and time will be announced at launch.

Is this a training program or a class?

Neither. It's a club: community, routine, and people who notice when you're gone. Trainers lead the instructional segment and coach form, but what you train and how hard is up to you.

What does "health, in full" mean?

We treat body and mind as one subject. That means a consistent routine, peer support, and a social life built around showing up. It does not mean medical or mental-health care, which we're not qualified to provide and won't pretend to.
